CERTIFIED ACADEMIC LANGUAGE PRACTITIONER
CALP Preparation Course
Prepares educators to deliver structured literacy intervention consistent with standards of the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA). Graduates are eligible to sit for ALTA’s Certified Academic Language Practitioner exam.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree required
Minimum of 47 hours of coursework in structured literacy or dyslexia intervention as follows:
Online learning - 15 hours
Part 1 Workshop - 16 hours (in-person or online)
Part 2 Workshop - 16 hours (in person or online)
60-hour supervised practicum with 5 demonstration lessons
Completion of Brightwire CALP training & ALTA CALP exam
Cost: $2450 - Includes all training & Brightwire materials. Textbook & video submission service must be purchased separately

COMMUNITY TUTOR
Community License
This training is designed for community tutors, parents, or paraprofessionals who wish to provide structured literacy intervention using the Brightwire program. Participants gain foundational knowledge in the science of reading and multi-sensory structured literacy techniques. Designed to teach up to 5 students at a time.
Requirements
No degree required
Minimum of 36 hours of coursework in structured literacy or dyslexia intervention as follows:
Online learning - 8 hours
Part 1 Workshop - 14 hours (in-person or online)
Part 2 Workshop - 14 hours (in person or online)
Completion of Brightwire Community License Training program
Cost: $1700 - includes all training and Brightwire materials
